SIPs KIT ERECTORS
Due to continuing growth, we require SIPs kit erectors to join our teams of installers, working on a variety of building projects throughout Perthshire and across Scotland.
These are permanent positions, with ongoing training and development opportunities within the organisation for the right individuals. A competitive remuneration package is offered comprising salary based on experience, bonus structure and access to company pension scheme.
You must be able to demonstrate experience working on projects with associated kit construction techniques. Excellent communication and time management skills are vital, along with a full UK driving licence. Experience of working with SIPs and a valid CSCS card would be advantageous, but are not essential. Due to the geography of contracts, working away from home may be required on occasion.
This is a customer-facing role working on high-quality projects requiring impeccable attention to detail, the ability to be proactive and to work both as part of a team and using your own initiative.
If you have a proven track record delivering first class projects, enjoy learning new techniques and have a desire to progress your career, this may be the job for you.
Job Type: Full-time
David Rattray Paterson (SIP Design Manager)
“JML Contracts prides itself on being a family run business, which has been evident to me since I began working here 6 years ago. The team take great care on delivering detail on every project we do. I have seen the company grow and diversify over the years, and I look forward to being part of the future development at JML.
I have been lucky enough to be one of the only people in Scotland to be trained in Dietrich’s, a 3D CAD/CAM-Software for wood construction, which provides a solution for planning, design and production that continuously adapts to the practical and changing requirements of timber construction, all thanks to training pathways made available to me through JML.
SIP panels are an innovative, modern and exciting way to build stylish and efficient houses, which will withstand the test of time. I am proud to be part of the team at JML and thankful for all the training and development I have undertaken since starting here 6 years ago. As a family run business, we care deeply about each individual project and meeting our clients’ expectations.”
Sarah Paterson (Office Manager)
“I am always so proud of the commitment to quality and customer service from JML Contracts. Each project is seen through to the end with a focus and attention to detail that sets JML apart from many other businesses. The SIPs product itself is of such high quality, with sustainable and environmental benefits and that sits very well with my own environmental beliefs. Working with people who are all really nice, good fun and listen to everyone’s input is important to me too – we are part of a valued JML family.”
Gavin Brock (SIPs Operations Manager)
“I have worked for JML Contracts for five years, and over that time the management team has given me opportunities to grow my skill set and really encouraged me to challenge myself giving me responsibility for managing many of the key sites we are building. The training and career progression is seen as a core part of the staff development, and to me this also reflects JML’s ambition, belief and vision for business growth. They want to invest across all parts of it.”
“ I also get to travel around many beautiful (and remote) parts of Scotland and beyond, and I thoroughly enjoy getting to see more of the country in my role.”
"First class service from Commercial Manager, Derek McIntyre, at all stages of the project. Once on site, Gavin Brock and his installation team were skilled and highly efficient. JML SIPs are a great team and know their product."
G. Smith, Strathaven
"For you and your team to hit your estimated build costs at every turn and to do it before deadline was a real credit to your organisation and efficiency and a massive relief to ourselves. We could not have asked for better building contractors. John was so patient and tolerant of my crazy plans and last minute alterations to the house."
Mr & Mrs Wilson, Tree Cottage, Killearn
"We are extremely pleased with the professional service provided by JML SIPs. Not only is the work to a high standard but also the positive and client specific approach was exceptional throughout."
Robin Wilson, Auchterarder
"JML SIPs provided a friendly, efficient service which was completed within the set timescale and within budget."
Ian Reynolds, Killikrankie
"JML SIPs were very professional and conscientious throughout all the stages of the construction of this high specification property. Their attention to detail, responsiveness and service provision were first class."
Douglas Sheasby, Dunblane
"We are delighted with the high standard of renovation and extension work recently carried out by JML SIPs. John and Robin proved invaluable with help and advice as the project progressed and all the direct tradesmen employed by them were helpful, courteous and efficient. No problem was too big or small and they were very flexible with all arrangements."
Bob Lindsay, Dunkeld
"The team were courteous and hard working, arriving promptly on site every day. The site was also kept very tidy with cut blocks and slates stacked for use before any new materials were cut. Every comment from the local community about the build has been positive and I am happy to pass on the recommendation to anyone considering building a house."
Gordon Motion, Stirlingshire
